Fields of Mistria 1.0
Fields of Mistria 1.0 is the full-release update whose official 1.0.0 notes add the conclusion of the Town Repair questline, marriage, optional children, ten-heart proposal events, a completable Museum, and Steam achievements. Existing saves carry into the release and can reach the new material, while accomplishments already recorded in a save can award achievements retroactively. The official v1.0.2 notes are covered separately below so launch features are not misclassified as later fixes.
What the 1.0.0 launch actually covers
The official launch notes describe 1.0.0 as a major content update and the move to full release, not as a small balance pass. Its headline changes finish the Town Repair questline, raise the Town Renown cap to 100, add the Mistril Town Rank event, and let the Museum be completed. The Saturday Market Plaza and Repair the Bell Tower quests join that progression, while new Town Rank quests give existing advancement a clearer route.
That scope matters when comparing versions. Marriage, children, the raised relationship cap, the finished town story, and Steam achievements belong to 1.0.0 in the collected official notes. They must not be presented as v1.0.2 additions simply because a later patch-page link appears beside the launch article. Read the launch list as the baseline, then evaluate any later version only from its own published body.
Town progress, Museum completion, and the market
Town progression receives both an ending and more guidance. The Renown cap reaches 100, the Mistril Town Rank event becomes available, and the remaining repair requests can close the Town Repair storyline. Museum wing rooms can be entered to view the collection, donation popups are reordered for clarity, and two additional sets named Honey Set and Terrarium Treasures Set appear with associated rewards.
The Saturday Market also gains defined 1.0.0 content. Stillwell and Zorel join the market after their requirements are met: Stillwell provides Mission Quests through a board, while Zorel sells Crystal Resonators and Song Crystals. Those crystals support music selection on the farm and in rooms of the player home. New requests and the Friday Night at the Inn storyline after the Mines story add more reasons to revisit established places.
Relationships, proposals, weddings, and children
The NPC heart cap rises to ten and official ten-heart proposal events are added. An Engagement Ring becomes craftable at a Forge after reaching ten hearts with an NPC the player is dating, following delivery of its recipe. Proposal events can be revisited with the ring before the player chooses an engagement, allowing the associated special items to be collected without forcing an immediate marriage decision.
Wedding planning includes supported choices such as flower color, cake flavor, and the reception meal. Post-marriage dialogue and routines are added, and the player can kiss a character they are dating, engaged to, or married to. A Mystical Feather becomes available through a later married-life scene and begins an optional family-planning conversation. The official FAQ is explicit that having a child is the player's choice, so marriage does not require that outcome.
When the player had been dating several characters, the FAQ says those other relationships move to best-friend status after marriage. Launch settings also provide choices around the breakup letters, follow-up lines, and the dating-to-best-friends status change that normally follows engagement. The two settings do different jobs, and one must be chosen before confirming the engagement to prevent the relationship changes entirely. The collected source supports these options but does not justify claims about every possible family configuration.
Home, pets, perks, art, and music
A fully upgraded house can unlock exterior style choices after a letter from Landen makes them available at the Carpenter's Shop. The Friend-Shaped combat perk allows monsters to drop pet skins matching their appearance, and the Big Chicken mount is added. Seven named perks are distributed across Cooking, Ranching, and Woodcrafting, while new furniture and cosmetics broaden customization. Cloud shadows, an animated Bathhouse water wheel, and placement or interaction indicators provide visible presentation changes.
Sound receives a new winter song, extended versions of four existing seasonal songs after progression, and ten songs available through Song Crystals. Zorel's market stock connects those songs to the farm and home-room music feature. A rotating player preview in character customization, brightness and saturation sliders, and additional graphics settings make setup more practical. These are launch-note features, not promises about an unannounced roadmap.
Gameplay and quality-of-life changes
The launch notes improve several existing loops rather than replacing them. Dates grant more relationship progress, previously inaccessible cooking recipes become available, and the speak interaction takes priority when interactions overlap near an NPC. Mine treasure-chest drops are improved, Ritual Chamber and Treasure room appearances are adjusted to be more common, and certain event circumstances automatically care for crops and animals.
Interface updates include clearer placement arrows, ladder markers, a talk marker at Caldarus' Statue, and a birthday screen header. New furniture groups include Monster, Ornate, Bonsai, and Dragon sets, while listed cosmetics include wedding outfits and other themed pieces. These examples show the breadth of 1.0.0 without turning every list item into a guarantee about future additions.
Saves, achievements, localization, and platform scope
The official FAQ states that existing save files carry over and can access the new content regardless of prior progress. Steam achievements also look at existing save data, so qualifying accomplishments can unlock after that save is loaded. Starting fresh is optional for someone who does not want those retroactive awards, not a compatibility requirement. No collected official statement supports warning players that 1.0.0 invalidates their farms.
The 1.0.0 notes add beta text for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. The FAQ expected these beta localizations to be about 75 percent complete at launch, with unavailable strings temporarily appearing in English and later improvements planned. The v1.0.2 notes record additional translations for French, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, plus revisions to some Simplified Chinese text.
The current official press kit lists the PC release on Steam, and the official FAQ lists Steam Deck compatibility.
Official 1.0.0 fixes and the launch hotfix
The launch notes report broad performance work, fixes for startup failures on some older PCs, and a reduction of video-memory use by more than half. They also correct diagonal movement onto water, a pet-job location crash, an incorrect Harvest Festival placement, a rare Museum-menu crash, doorway traps, and several event, animation, sound, cosmetic, and display problems. A launch hotfix separately addresses a startup crash connected to the newly introduced localized languages.
Those fixes belong to the 1.0.0 launch material collected for this guide. They are useful for understanding the full-release baseline, but they should not be silently reassigned to v1.0.2. The notes do not promise that every machine will gain the same performance or that every possible defect is removed. When troubleshooting a newer build, its own version notes should remain the authority.
What the official v1.0.2 patch changed
The official v1.0.2 notes add new hairstyles to the default customization menu and Vera's stall. They improve performance when AMD or Nvidia overlays share the game window, add beach-pier collisions, and expand translations in French, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The notes also revise some Simplified Chinese text.
The patch fixes the Shooting Star Festival softlock, stuck Animal Toys, incorrect delivery timing for Landen's home-exterior letter, tool stacking, the Time Flies achievement, several localization faults, and a group of startup, menu, mount, mine, wedding, and mana crashes. It also adjusts final-mine monster drops and fixes several event, NPC, sound, collision, and visual issues. These are v1.0.2 changes; Town Renown 100, marriage, children, Museum completion, and the seven beta languages remain 1.0.0 launch features.
